Cole Doman (b. 1993, Philadelphia, PA) is a trained stage and film actor living in Brooklyn, NY.
He studied at the School at Steppenwolf under Amy Morton, Tarell Alvin McCraney, Michael Patrick Thornton, and more. Chris Jones of the Chicago Tribune named Cole among the "Hot New Faces of Chicago Theater" in 2016.
He made his film debut as the titular role in the critically acclaimed Henry Gamble's Birthday Party (dir. Stephen Cone), for which his performance was heralded as one of the "Best Breakout Performances of 2016" by The Film Stage. Other film credits include: Mutt (dir. Vuk Lungulov-Klotz); My First Film (dir. Zia Anger); Uncle Frank (dir. Alan Ball); Starfuckers (dir. Antonio Marziale); Haze (dir Matthew Fifer); Bust (dir. Angal Field); Gussy (dir. Chris Osbourn).
On television he has appeared in Let the Right One In, Gossip Girl, Modern Family, Law & Order: SVU, Chicago PD, Equal, and Shameless.
He made his New York theater debut in the world premiere of Julia May Jonas’ Your Own Personal Exegesis (dir. Annie Tippe) at Lincoln Center Theatre, for which his performance was lauded by The New York Times and even cartooned by The New Yorker. Other theater work includes starring in the sold-out, limited run of Jacob Wasson’s Other People’s Dead Dads (dir. Rory Pelsue) at Dixon Place as well as development work with Roundabout Theatre & Tectonic Theatre.
Up next, he can be seen in Kelly Reichardt’s newest film The Mastermind starring Josh O’Connor now in theaters from MUBI, followed by a series regular role on The Savant for AppleTV alongside Jessica Chastain, directed by Academy Award nominees Matthew Heineman & Rachel Morrison set to premiere in 2026.
Most recently, Cole wrapped production on two debut feature films: Gorilla Gorilla by Tij Doyen & Michael Calciano and Before I Do by Gary Jaffe.
